Engage Industry
KLSC is a front door for all things life sciences in Southeastern Pennsylvania
Whether you come from industry, youth education, higher education, workforce development, economic development, or you’re looking for a job or internship in life sciences, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s how you can engage.
Industry Leaders
KLSC empowers industry leaders to set a regional agenda and actively advance initiatives through collaboration.
Each of KLSC’s Action Teams are composed of industry leaders who provide input about the types of initiatives to advance in partnership with KLSC staff. Industry leaders are currently spearheading several initiatives across the ecosystem, including:
- Partnering with education providers to design an industry-informed training program for in-demand roles.
- Making it easier for educators to bring life sciences speakers to their classrooms, to raise awareness of the industry.
- Supporting job seekers in the life sciences through career coaching and networking events.
- Crafting economic development policy that can inform leaders across the Commonwealth.

Youth Educators
KLSC brings life sciences experiences and awareness into classrooms and youth programs across Southeastern Pennsylvania.
We are creating a speakers bureau, designed to make it easy for youth educators to find life sciences professionals to share their experiences with students. Raising awareness of life sciences opportunities and career paths is important to us, so much so that one of our Action Teams is dedicated to doing exactly this.
KLSC engages youth education leaders to shape industry-driven tools that lower barriers to STEM programs.
We are constantly soliciting feedback from youth education leaders on how the life sciences industry can be more engaged in youth education. We are currently developing tools designed to aid in life sciences youth education and we invite your thoughts on the next phase of tool development. Join KLSC as a community partner and help shape this work.
Higher Education or Workforce Professionals
KLSC helps education and workforce providers strengthen programs through high-impact collaborations.
We know educational institutions can face the challenge of lengthy engagements with companies to ensure that their programs meet industry standards and needs. KLSC provides a network of engaged industry partners to collaborate with to make engaging with companies easier.
Economic Development Professionals
KLSC hosts quarterly meetings that bring together regional leaders and provide economic development leaders an opportunity to workshop ideas with industry partners.
At our Quarterly Meetings, economic development professionals meet C-suite industry professionals across the breadth of life sciences subfields, including include cell and gene therapy, contract development and manufacturing, clinical trial supply chain, non-clinical CROs, toxicology testing, regulatory science, pharmaceutical manufacturing, drug product services, testing and laboratory analysis, and small molecule drug discovery. Accompanying these members is a select group of education providers, workforce leaders, public sector representatives, and other economic development professionals. At some of our Quarterly Meetings we discuss economic development strategies, giving economic development professionals the opportunity to present their ideas and receive industry feedback and insights.
KLSC drives economic development strategies together with our Core Partners.
We make space to create a unified strategy for Southeastern Pennsylvania life sciences. In some cases, KLSC’s Action Teams and Core Partners execute economic development strategies, while in others, we partner with economic development professionals to provide valuable connections that advance their work. For example, we’ve partnered with the Brookings Institute to better understand our region’s opportunities and challenges. Read the 2025 Brookings Report titled Southeastern Pennsylvania market assessment for growing opportunity industries and economic mobility.
